Theories of Relativity - Third Fifth

The book is still very interesting but it is starting to be dragged out. The story dosent really have a path still and its just him trying to live on the street like the last fifth. Although he did meet his mom and found out that she is doing very well with her new husband and they dont need him anymore, it had very little significance. All he got was a letter from his Grandfather from years ago. I guess the story is going to include his grandfather very soon.

Theories of Relativity - Second Fifth

So far i really like the book and its starting to get a little bit better. I like how in depth the author goes into the mind of Dylan. I also like the fact that hes on the streets and it goes into depth how he feels and what he needs to survive. I wonder where the story is going from here and how it will unfold because it has no path in which its going. I hope he keeps with Jenna and they somehow get a job and a house and all that.

Romeo and Juliet: overall thoughts

Romeo and Juliet is he first of William Shakespeare's plays that i have read and watched. I thought it was mostly boring except for a very few parts. Although back in the day it would have been amazing. I personally didnt like it but im sure other people do.

Romeo and Juliet Act 3 Scene 5

The movie so far is very entertaining and much better than the book. I hate reading the book becasue I dont understand it and its just boring. The movie tells me more about the play than the book does. I cant wait to keep watching the movie but I can wait to read the book.

Theories Of Relativity - First Fifth

I am liking this book so far. I really like the main character Dylan and the way the author says his thoughts and how he thinks. There is also alot of character depth to Dylan. Its a very intriguing book and I cant wait to read more. I like how he has theories about almost everything and I think he might get off the streets and be a mathematician or something like that. I cant wait to read on and see what happens with Jenna and him too.

Act 1 Scene i

I think Romeo is sad becasue he lost a girl or something like that. He is suffering from a "broken heart". I also think that Romeo is shutting himself in his room to stay away from other people and make it obvious he is sad and depressed. Benvolio is a good friend to Romeo i think. He is trying to get Romeo to go to the party and meet a girl so he wont be sad anymore.

Romeo and Juliet Prologue

I think Shakespeare includes this to set tge setting and tell you what is going to happen. I think he does this so people know what is happening in the play. From the lines we learn that Romeo and Juliet are from two different familys that hate each other, but they dont care and they love each other and will do anything for each other.

Lord Of The Flies - Chapter 12

The action continued throughout this chapter and didn't have a boring ending to it. I really liked the ending because it was a complete surprise to me. I did not expect Ralph to live and I did not expect them to get rescued. It was a very big stretch that right as they started burning the whole forest the ship just happened to go by but thats what made it such a good ending. The book is very inspiring. The fact that a group of kids end up trying to kill each other is very funny. I didnt hate this book but I didnt like it. It was better at the end but the begining was so boring. It was an overall good book but not my type. I hope the other books we read are better suited for grade 10s and I hope they'll be more entertaining.

Lord Of The Flies - Chapter 11

This is my favourite chapter so far. There was so much action in this chapter. The book will hopefully keep gaining suspense and action. I liked Piggy though and he died. Also Samneric are captured and I think Jack will beat them until they join his tribe. Ralph is now alone and they are going to go out and hunt him down. At this point I think after they hunt Ralph they will end up riping themselves apart and one person will be left. And thet person is probably going to die too becasue he unless its Jack cant hunt alone and keep food to survive.

Lord Of The Flies - Chapter 10

This chapter was not confusing but it was very borin. The only good part of the chapter was at the end when they got jumped and beat. It was very smart that they got the glasses becasue that makes Ralphs tribe one person less and they can make fire whenever they want. I wonder how they are going to get Piggys glasses back if at all. They cant just go over there and take it becasue they are outnumbered by alot. I hope the action keeps going from the end of the last chapter.

Lord Of The Flies - Chapter 9

This chapter wasnt as confusing as the others but it was a shocker. I had no idea that Simon was going to die. It was very weird how they killed Simon and thought he was the beast. I wonder how they are going to bring it up to everyone the next day and how they are going to deal with it. It would be a very hard topic to talk about but it would also be very hard to just shove aside. Also without Simon, Ralph has almost no one left in his tribe. I wonder if he'll go join Jack or just stay where he is.

Lord Of The Flies - Chapter 8

This chapter was very weird. The part where Simon met the lord of the flies was very confusing. I had to read it over a few times to understand. The book is not getting any easier to read. If anything its getting more confusing and I now have to read chapters over again. Im wondering as to whats going to happen after goes back and tells them there is no beast and its just a dead man that must of been a pilot. They might just think there still is a beast out there.

Lord of the Flies - Chapter 7

This chapter was a little more confusing than the last few. The part when Robert got circled from all the other boys was the most confusing to me. I had to read it over to get it. I found it weird how Ralph was trying to get near Robert and the book said "The desire to squeeze and hurt was over-mastering." It makes me wonder if that has any significance with something else in the book. Maybe he might overdo something and hurt someone. I also wonder what is going to happen when they find out that it isnt the beast but a man. Where will the plot go from there.

Lord of the Flies - Chapter 6

This chapter got a bit more interesting than the other. The kids that were keeping the fire lit thought they saw some flying beast. Their minds were just playing tricks with them but they're too young to understand. When they went to find the beast it wasnt there and they all forget about the beast and start making a fort. Nothing gets acomplished on the island. I hope the story gets a little more entertaining becasue this is the most boring book ive read so far.

Lord Of The Flies - Chapter 5

This chapter was very boring. All the chapter Ralph just talked about the things that needed to be changed like the shelters, getting things done, and keeping the water clean. The assemblies in my mind are very stupid and worthless. They never get anything accomplished and it always breaks out into an arguement. They start talking about the beast and they keep making things up just to scare themselves. They come to a conclusion thats its in the water. I think they should forget about the beast and worry about more important things such as the fire and shelter.

Lord of the Flies - Chapter 4

Jack finally got a pig but at great cost. They could of got rescued which was more important than some meat. Ralph really got mad this time and Jack still didnt get it. Jack shouldn't be the leader of his choir people. He should be just one of the followers. I felt so bad when he hit Piggy and broke his glasses. Piggy was right and Jack was in no position to hit him. I guess on the island the strongest will lead and the weakest will always be ignored.

Lord of the Flies - Chapter 3

The book make full sense to me now. I am starting to hate Jack becasue of his personality. All he wants to do is hunt instead of getting much more inportant things done like making shelter. Ralph and Simon are the only two that are smart enough to build shelter rather than playing and hunting. I wonder what Simon does when he goes off into the forest. Maybe he has food but dosent want to share it with the others. I also wonder if Jack will ever get a pig for the people like he promised.

Lord of the Flies - Chapter 2

The story is making more sense as I read on. The characters are developing much more and you get a real sense of how they think and do. Jack is the hunter and he wants to do is hunt. They should be getting shelter ready for a storm. He talks about getting meat and bacon for everyone on the island but he couldn't get a pig. He seems like a do now think later person. Ralph is the opposite though. Thats what makes him a good leader. I like Piggy the most though and I think he should of been leader but becasue of his looks no one listens to him but he is the smartest. Hopefully they will start listening to Piggy later on in the book.

Why 'Do Good'

People usally do the right thing becasue there might be a reward in it for them or they do the right thing to obey the law. I agree with William Golding's quote that without reward, society, or law people would do the bad or wrong thing.

Bullying

Bullying usally comes from a bigger, tougher kid, who comes from a bad home. They might have been abused and have a relative who is an alcoholic or addicted to drugs. It still happens becasue the bullies are getting away with what they do becasue there parents dont care. Male bullying and female bullying are usally two different things entirely. Male bullying is more physical and female bullying is more verbal and emotional.

Lord of the Flies 1-25

I did not like the book so far. It seems like a slow beginning and a very boring one too. I was very confused for the first 15 pages. It made very little sense to me and when you dont know whats happening in a book I dont think your going to like it. I hope this book does pick up soon and a little sort of government forms. It would be very interesting if that happened and what sort of government they would have. I wonder if all of them are going to be able to live and set up shelter and how they are going to hunt for food. So far the book isnt good but has alot of potential to get better.

#2 My Memoir Event

For my memoir event I choose when my sister got a new puppy. It turns out that puppy taught me a lesson about myself.

#1 Grade 9 English

One abiding memory from Grade 9 english was the plays from Much Ado About Nothing. Everyone dreaded it but it was fun during the play.
